Overview of the Storm and Sanitary Analysis Course

In this Online Storm and Sanitary Analysis (SSA) training course, participants will learn and apply the tools offered by SSA, the Civil 3D companion software for stormwater management and design.

SSA provides users with the necessary tools to carry out the stormwater and sanitary design component of the project.

The Stormwater And Sanitary Analysis course includes a series of step-by-step tutorials, with clear and concise explanations. Participants will be able to understand the reason behind every design step.

In general, a user can complete the Storm and Sanitary Analysis course within an average of 10 to 20 hours.

GET A CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION

At the end of each chapter, Infratech offers optional quizzes in order to evaluate the users learning progress. The Stormwater And Sanitary Analysis course certificate will include the name of the participant, the course and date of completion. Participants will need to get a minimum percentage of 70 for each chapter. Certificates can be downloaded directly from the user account for each completed course.

TARGET USERS

This course, entitled “Civil 3D Stormwater And Sanitary Analysis” is for intermediate to advanced levels of users. The course is purposefully designed to be a hands-on duplication of the real-life experience of the authors. So, this will allow first-time users to save significant time in the inherent trial and error process of learning new design software. On the other hand, more advanced users can reinforce their capabilities. At the same time, they can compare their design practices and processes to the methods used by the designers of this course.

Infratech Civil uses a “To The Point” approach to tackle the subject at hand. In particular, Infratech uses a solid instructional experience and a cutting edge presentation technique.  With this approach, we can highlight the most important points of the course.

Finally, to supplement this course, as announced in our press release Infratech Civil also offers advanced and specialized modules such as Advanced Surveying, Advanced Storm and Sanitary Design and Advanced Roadway Design.

The course material includes the Storm And Sanitary Analysis printable eBook and a complete set of practice files. In addition, the course is continually updated to include the latest software versions, new workflows, news, and more.

Participants can obtain a completion certificate for PDH (Professional Development Hours) purposes. However, they need to complete an evaluation test, with a 70% passing grade.

The certification test can be taken online, as many times as needed, as long as the user account is active.

STORM AND SANITARY ANALYSIS (SSA)  vs SWMM (EPA-SWMM, PC-SWMM, etc.)

Most hydrologic models are based on the EPA's Storm Water Management Model (SWMM) model. SWMM is a proven model design and analyzing urban and also rural drainage systems.

SSA has a built-in capability to run a SWMM model, as well as TR-55, HEC-1, Rational method, and many other hydrologic models.

SSA is uniquely suited for land development design due to its seamless integration with Civil 3D.

HOW TO GET STORM AND SANITARY ANALYSIS

It is unbeknownst to many users, but SSA is automatically installed with Civil 3D, and it is readily available out of the box. We will see in the Storm And Sanitary Analysis course where to access the installed SSA package.

To get the AutoCAD Civil 3D software Autodesk offers several options.

The easiest way to obtain the software for the Storm And Sanitary Analysis course is to contact an Autodesk Partner like Infratech Civil.

A second option is to directly purchase a subscription through the Autodesk Subscription Centre.  Once there, you have to subscribe on a monthly or annual term. A monthly subscription is a great option for people sporadic needs. For more stable users the three-year subscription option is probably a better option.

A third option if available to qualified students. They can request an educational version of the software. While the free student version comes as a full-fledged version they should be aware that every drawing opened with a student version of the software will print with an AutoDesk watermark.

Finally, another great option is to download a free Civil 3D 30-day trial version. This is a great option for people not familiar with the software and wishing to try it out. The free Civil 3D download is also a great option for people taking this Storm And Sanitary Analysis course.

So far OKay

The explanation was good and the presentation was excellent. However, it would be better if the course can be simplified and divided into survey, surface design, and other separate courses. Overall it is an great course.

Thorough course

Fouad E.

Overall, the course is fairly thorough. As a more experienced user, I would have preferred to hear more on best practices, new functionalities of the new versions, vs older ones, etc. However, I think it fits the needs for the targeted audience.

Great course

Patrick Butler

Very interesting and easy to understand. Since I already have some experience, was good to see how to design using different methods. Definitely further my knowledge even more. Can't wait to take more advanced courses. Thank you!

Great Civil 3D Storm and Sanitary course

Very helpful to learn how to design Stormwater and Sanitary Analysis. We use SWMM for storm design but SSA maybe better.
