Overview of the Civil 3D Field to Finish Survey Course

The objective is this Civil 3D Surveying course is to take the Civil 3D essentials course a step further and explore in more detail the options available to Land Surveyors and Construction professionals.

In this survey course, we will focus on the tools we have to process survey data. This will mainly include using straight custom data files or automated Field to Finish methods. We will represent existing field conditions (topographical elevations, property boundaries, easement, right of way lines, under and above-ground infrastructure, etc.).

The course includes a series of step-by-step tutorials, with clear and concise explanations. Participants will be able to understand the reason behind every design step.

In general, a user can complete the Civil 3D Survey course within an average of 20 to 30 hours.

GET A CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION

At the end of each chapter, Infratech offers Civil 3D completion certificateoptional quizzes in order to evaluate the users learning progress. The certificate will include the name of the participant, the course, and the date of completion. Participants will need to get a minimum percentage of 70 for each chapter. Certificates can be downloaded directly from the user account for each completed course.

TARGET USERS

This course, entitled “AutoCAD Civil 3D: Field to Finish Surveying” is for all levels of users.

Infratech Civil uses a “To The Point” approach to tackle the subject at hand. In particular, Infratech uses a solid instructional experience and a cutting edge presentation technique.  With this approach, we can highlight the most important points of the course.

Finally, to supplement this course, Infratech Civil also offers advanced and specialized modules such as Advanced Surveying, Advanced Storm and Sanitary Design and Advanced Roadway Design.

CIVIL 3D SURVEYING TRAINING MANUAL

The course material includes the Civil 3D Essentials course printable eBook and a complete set of practice files. In addition, the course is continually updated to include the latest software versions, new workflows, news, and more.

Participants can obtain a completion certificate for PDH (Professional Development Hours) purposes. However, they need to complete an evaluation test, with a 70% passing grade.

The certification test can be taken online, as many times as needed, as long as the user account is active.

CIVIL 3D vs. AUTOCAD

AutoCAD is Autodesk‘s flagship software for computer-aided drafting and design (CADD).  Professionals in engineering, architecture, construction, and surveying use CADD extensively. Indeed, CADD allows them to efficiently create electronic drawings, plans, calculations, and illustrations.

Civil 3D is the AutoCAD vertical product for the civil engineering industry.

HOW TO GET CIVIL 3D

To get the AutoCAD Civil 3D software, Autodesk offers several options.

The easiest way to obtain the software for the Civil 3D course is to contact an Autodesk Partner like Infratech Civil.

A second option is to directly purchase a subscription through the Autodesk Subscription Centre.  Once there, you have to subscribe on a monthly or annual term. A monthly subscription is a great option for people sporadic needs. For more stable users the three-year subscription option is probably a better option.

A third option if available to qualified students. They can request an educational version of the software. While the free student version comes as a full-fledged version they should be aware that every drawing opened with a student version of the software will print with an AutoDesk watermark.

Finally, another great option is to download a free Civil 3D 30-day trial version. This is a great option for people not familiar with the software and wishes to try it out. The free Civil 3D download is also a great option for people taking this Civil 3D course.
