Adobe Lightroom Classic Keyboard Shortcuts

About Lightroom Keyboard Shortcuts

Product:  Adobe Lightroom Classic  |   Subject: Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic

In this exercise, we will learn about Adobe Lightroom Classic Keyboard Shortcuts.

In this section, I want to take a couple of minutes to talk to you about keyboard shortcuts. I mentioned these because keyboard shortcuts are the way to speed up your workflow. Adobe Photoshop Lightroom is part of the Creative Cloud, you can also get it as a standalone product, but I highly recommend you get the cloud version because there are a few extra perks.

Now, if you've worked with Adobe Creative Cloud or the Adobe Creative products, you know that you can customize many keyboard shortcuts to get to work faster and do many things within the keyboard. And when you work with the keyboard, you can use both hands. And you don't have to worry too much about moving the mouse here or left-clicking, right-clicking, and choosing menu shortcuts. So keyboard shortcuts are the way to go. But if you don't know what they are, it becomes difficult to use them right. And so I want to show you how you can get a list of keyboard shortcuts here. Now, we are in the library module. And the way to access all of the keyboard shortcuts available in the current module, in this case, a library module, is to hold down the ctrl key and the front slash button. And it will show up with all of the shortcuts available, in this case, in the library module. So these are the view shortcuts, and we've covered a few of them already.

G for grid mode, E for loupe view, C for compare mode, N for survey mode, O for people mode. But there are a few other modes that you can do. There are, of course, the rating shortcuts, and then a few of the flagging shortcuts and photo shortcuts and things like that. We've also covered the panel shortcuts for tab and Shift +Tab, where we can show and hide the side panels or all the panels and so on. These are all of the shortcuts that are available to you in the library module

Now, let me show you and change the module to the develop module. Now we haven't covered anything available in the develop module yet. But I just want to show you what keyboard shortcuts are available to you. So all you have to do once again is click Ctrl + front slash. In the develop shortcuts in the develop module, you have a whole new series of keyboard shortcuts. And these will help once again to speed up your workflow.

But the more you know of the develop shortcuts or the library shortcuts, or whatever other shortcuts are in the other modules, the faster you will be able to work with all of your images in the Adobe Photoshop Lightroom catalog. And this will help you greatly speed up your workflow to get back to doing what you love doing. And in some cases, it depends entirely upon you. But for me, I love taking photos. But I also love spending a lot of time in the develop module and tweaking the photos and creating something artistic out of that.

So, whatever it is, the more that you know of your keyboard shortcuts, the faster you'll be able to get back to what it is that you love to do. So I hope this has helped you get to understand what the keyboard shortcuts are.

To quickly recap, depending upon the module that you're in, all you have to do is click Ctrl and the front slash, and that will take you to the list of available shortcuts for that particular module. But I hope this has been helpful. And if you do have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.
